Working with Slides
MikroSlides uses simple, direct slide editing as its normal workflow: Select an object, adjust it on the canvas, and use the inspector for precise settings.
Slides
Section titled “Slides”- Click a slide in the left rail to select it.
- Drag slides in the rail to reorder them.
- Use the slide context menu, keyboard shortcuts, or rail actions to copy, cut, paste, duplicate, move, skip, and delete slides.
- Hover a slide and use the skip control to hide it from presentation mode.
- Skipped slides remain in the deck and can be shown again later.
Objects
Section titled “Objects”Add text, shapes, and images from the bottom toolbar. Select an object to move, resize, align, layer, duplicate, delete, or edit its style.
Useful gestures:
- Drag to move an object.
- Hold Shift while dragging to constrain movement to the dominant axis.
- Hold Option/Alt while dragging to duplicate and move the copy.
- Drag the resize handle to resize.
- Double-click text to edit the text content.
- Single-click text to select and resize the text object.
- Use arrow keys to nudge selected objects; hold Shift for larger nudges.
- Lock objects from the context menu or inspector when they should stay in place.
Layouts
Section titled “Layouts”Layouts provide structured starting points for the current slide. Use them early when shaping a deck, then adjust the objects and slide settings directly.
Changing a layout keeps the slide’s existing text content where possible, but layout changes can still rearrange or replace objects. Export important decks before large layout passes.
Speaker notes
Section titled “Speaker notes”Speaker notes are stored with each slide and exported with editable deck files. Treat exported .mikroslides.json and .mikroslides files as containing the full deck, including notes.
Use the font selector in the object inspector to choose system fonts or deck fonts. Use the font manager to add common fonts, online fonts, or local font files to the current deck.
Presentation mode
Section titled “Presentation mode”Use Present or Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to start presentation mode. Navigate with:
- Next: click, Space, Arrow Right, or Page Down
- Previous: Arrow Left or Page Up
- Exit: Escape
Skipped slides are excluded from the presenter count and navigation.
